Bridging Heritage with a Sustainable Future
Bridging Heritage with a Sustainable Future
The evolving business environment requires shipping companies to adapt to increasingly stringent emissions regulations, demands from customers, and more rigorous investor requirements; however, a fragmented industry makes it difficult to implement optimal solutions, supply chain uncertainties for green fuels create hesitancy for newbuilds; and a vast existing fleet requires pragmatic, cost-effective decarbonisation pathways.
Ships transport 80% of global trade and account for 3% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions with a complex global value-chain including shipping, cargo, energy, finance, ports and infrastructure.
The IMO's 2023 GHG Strategy mandates a 20-30% reduction in emissions by 2030 and 70-80% by 2040. IMO's short-term GHG reduction measures aim to improve ship energy efficiency and reduce carbon intensity by at least 40% compared to 2008 levels by 2030.
The EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), effective January 2024, now imposes a direct financial cost on carbon emissions for large ships in EU ports, compelling immediate action and investment in low-carbon solutions.
There is increasing pressure from both cargo owners who need to decarbonise their shipping operations as well as financial institutions who would like to reduce their exposure to non-sustainable businesses.
NSP brings together leading players in the shipping industry to be a “one-stop shop” for shipowners and companies with shipping assets to enable decarbonisation and value-creation of existing assets. We combine:
- Unparalleled decarbonisation and shipping expertise with proven track record
- Strategic partnerships with leading shipyards and engineers in Europe, and
- End-to-end support from initial concept through engineering, technology integration, financing, and execution.
Delivering positive ROI and real impact.
Leveraging our extensive facilities (most active ship repair yard in Europe with 180 ships docking per annum), we accommodate a diverse range of large and specialised vessels.
Benefit: Cost-effective, faster deployment (18-24 months for life extension and conversion vs. 3+ years for newbuilds), and maximises asset value.

Benefit: Cost-effective, faster deployment (18-24 months for life extension and conversion vs. 3+ years for newbuilds), and maximises asset value.
Impact: Directly avoids "embodied carbon" emissions from new vessel construction. Using existing assets can save up to 33% of GHG emissions compared to a newbuild.

Benefit: Reduced fuel consumption, EU ETS compliance, future-proofing IMO regulations, reduced pollutants, and enhanced asset value. These also improve ship EEXI and CII ratings.
Impact: Technologies such as propeller optimisation, air lubrication systems (ALS), and wind-assisted propulsion systems (WAPS) can lead to 5-25% of reduction in fuel consumption.

Benefit: EU ETS compliance, future-proofing IMO regulations, commercial benefits from the market for vessels - poised for substantial growth as CCS approaches a phase of expansion.
Impact: Converting marine engines to operate on, lower-carbon fuels, or enabling them to be dual-fuel capable is crucial for climate-neutral shipping.
